TODAY: Fire Voice Paging Testing

TODAY: We will test ALL department tones to verify the new radio console configuration is working correctly.

What We Need From Each Department (Battalion or Officer in Charge)

  1. Acknowledge via radio, that each tone activated on your pager.
  2. Acknowledge via radio, that you were or weren’t able to hear and understand the dispatcher.

We’re activating the NEW paging transmitters so the audio may sound different – no need to report on that difference.

As always, thank you for your patience during your process.

7/6-?? Radio Tower Preventative Maintenance

Beginning tomorrow Thursday July 6th

Mobilcomm starts preventative maintenance, taking each radio tower OFFLINE for a minimum of 4 hours, one at a time. First up will likely be Washington Twp tower (I-71 Wilmington Rd exit).

Telecom will notify Dispatch as each tower is prepped for take-down so a voice announcement can be made over the air.

What this Means for Radio Users: If your territory is near an offline tower, in-building coverage on your portable may be reduced or obsolete. Mobile in-car radio coverage should not be affected.

Marine Radio for Caesar Creek Monitoring

TechnicalBulletin_MarineRadio_122816(release040417)

  • In time for boating season, Telecom has installed a marine radio at Caesar Creek, connecting the Warren County Communications Center with boaters and responders.
  • Dispatchers monitor Marine 9 (Hailing) for watercrafts in distress OR Marine 16 (Emergency) for responding units. The radio can’t scan so it will have to sit to one of the two talkgroups.
  • Watercraft Officers should have the marine talkgroup in their boat or portable radios and be able to respond to calls for assistance. Having this in the Warren County Communications Center will also bridge that gap when no officers are on the water; yet boaters still are.
  • If anyone has questions, please contact Telecom at 695-HELP or help@wcoh.net
  • Gary Branstetter with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is also a willing resource for questions: GBranstetter@sugarcreektownship.com
